The district is divided into five sub-divisions for administrative convenience. Each sub-division is headed by a Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO/SDM) of the rank of Assistant Collector in the IAS cadre or a Deputy Collector. The Sub-Divisional Officer functions as the Sub-Divisional Magistrate and has jurisdiction over the concerned sub-division.
